Southern soul or country soul is a type method soul and country music delay emerged from the Southern Affiliated States. 1960s–1980s

1990s–present
After 1990, meridional soul music was still authentic and performed by singers specified as Sharon Jones,[24]Charles Bradley,[25]Peggy Scott-Adams, Trudy Lynn,[26]Roy C, Sir River Jones, Barbara Carr, Willie Clayton, Bobby Rush,[27]Denise LaSalle, Gwen McCrae, Johnnie Taylor,[28]Omar Cunningham,[29] and William Bell.[30]
